Lemonade Day Teaches Kids about Entrepreneurship

Spark Energy is working with Glen Ellyn organizations and businesses to help bring the lessons of entrepreneurship to families in our community through an event called Lemonade Day. Lemonade Day is a free, fun learning program that teaches children how to start, own and operate their own business using a lemonade stand as well as fundamental lessons about life, success and themselves.

To get the community excited for Lemonade Day, Spark Energy will be giving away lemon cupcakes by Flirty Cupcakes to the first 100 children to inquire about Lemonade Day at the Glen Ellyn Library. The cupcake giveaway runs 6 to 7:30 pm on Tuesday, April 10.

Then on Tuesday, April 24 from 4 to 5 pm, visit the Library for Lemonade Day itself. Children may come, pick up an information packet about entrepreneurship, and participate in a short but effective program covering the aspects of running a successful lemonade stand and productively spending the profits. After registering, children will be encouraged to operate their own lemonade stand on a day to be announced. Spark Energy will donate $25 to the charity of the young entrepreneur’s choice to augment funds raised at their stand.

Stop by GEPL on April 10 at 6 for a free cupcake and more information, and stop by Lemonade Day on April 24 at 4 to take advantage of this great opportunity..
