Role Models for Kids

Kids Holding a Four Stripped Sheet During A Youth Program

Children idolize their parents, but we all long for people to look up to, good role models. We admire and emulate sports players, politicians, business tycoons only to be disappointed later.

Locally there are countless good role models for kids, but sometimes it is a matter of meeting them. The Glen Ellyn Public Library offers that opportunity to preschool children at Celebrity Storytimes, honoring National Library Week and the local heroes kids can admire. No registration is required.

Tuesday, April 10, 10:30 a.m. – Does your child want to stay at the library when it is time to go home? Meet our own Library Director Dawn Bussey who leads us in building a vibrant community center at GEPL. She knows we are so much more than books!

Tuesday, April 10, 7:00 p.m. – Hola! Is your family bilingual? Our evening guest is Senorita Kathleen who will read in Spanish. (There will be a translation!)

Wednesday, April 11, 10:30 a.m. – Look in the parking lot on the way in! If you see a fire engine, we are not having an emergency. It means our story time guest is from the Glen Ellyn Fire Department.

Thursday, April 12, 10:30 a.m. – Double fun today! Officer Staples of the Glen Ellyn Police Department AND Favorite Retuning Guest Miss Judy!

Friday, April 13, 10:30 a.m. – Does your child prefer drawing to sports? Meet Glen Ellyn graphic designer and artist Wes Douglas who will show some drawings as we will look at a variety of art styles in books.
