Susan Miura will be at the library on Thursday, May 3 at 7 pm to give GEPL patrons and friends a Taste of Sicily. She is a woman of many talents and interests. Miura lists travel, photography and food among her many passions. She is also a fiction writer with two published short stories and the hope that one of her novels will catch a publisher’s eye. She is a professional book reviewer and currently works in Public Relations at the Schaumburg Township District Library.
This travel/food presentation will be sure to please multiple senses. Traveling from west to east, Miura will begin the Sicilian journey in the capital, Palermo, culminating in Messina. From the Valley of Temples to Mt. Etna to the 2000 year-old Greek Theater, you will be fascinated by the splendor, culture and foods of Sicily. And you can’t talk about Italy without food being a major component! Seafood, pasta, cheeses, olive oil, almond products and many more scrumptious foods will be featured on this fun and fanciful tour.
