This summer, the Glen Ellyn Library removed and replaced its parking lot. A new entrance at the far west end of the lot was added, and the flow of traffic around the center island has been reversed. Patrons may now drop off items at the library’s book drop more easily from the driver’s side of the car. The old parking lot entrance, found at the east end of the lot (closest to the library building), has become the exit to the parking lot.
This redesign has allowed the library to increase the number of available parking spaces. The project began June 12 and was slated to end July 18. The parking lot has been completed and reopened Wednesday, June 27 at 8 a.m. Library staff will be in the parking lot Wednesday to help direct the new flow of traffic.
