Tomorrow: Glen Ellyn Resident Sandy Stevens to Discuss Trip To North Korea

GEPL News Black BannerThe Glen Ellyn Public Library will host Glen Ellyn resident and journalist Sandy Stevens as she  her trip to North Korea on Thursday, November 15 at 7:00pm.

Stevens hopes program attendees will gain valuable knowledge about North Korea to clear up common misconceptions.

“American’s know a little about North Korea’s leaders and their sometimes bizarre behavior, but little is known about the mind control of the average citizen, their lack of knowledge about the rest of the world and their own, and the obscene poverty they all experience. I hope those who come to the program will get a much clearer view of life inside this hidden country.

Stevens encourages attendees to prepare for the presentation by reading The Orphan Master’s Son and Escape From Camp 14, as she will discuss how her personal story parallels to these books.
