Hi everyone! I’m Hannah, the new Young Adult Librarian at GEPL. I like to read (like, a LOT) and I have weaknesses for butt-kicking heroines, dragons, love interests with a sense of humor and lots more. My TV/movie loves include anything Joss Whedon, cheerful-and-funny comedies like Mean Girls, Singin’ in the Rain, Easy A, The Muppets, etc., terrible sci-fi monster movies (Sharknado doesn’t even BEGIN to cover it), How I Met Your Mother, Community, The Mindy Project, and lately, Dr. Who and Marvel superhero movies. I will listen – though won’t promise to like – to just about any music anyone plays for me, but I am distressingly out-of-date when it comes to my favorites: Green Day, Metallica and Barenaked Ladies – though I have lately gotten super into Adele, so I’m only a little late to that party.
Even though I’m brand new, I’m already excited about our awesome Teen Scene space and glad to have seen a lot of you coming in after school (more on that in the next couple months!). I have some ideas for how I want to spruce up the space (book displays, a chance for you to share your favorite books, something interesting under the glass in the big table) and we’ll be working toward a more dynamic website as soon as possible.
But I want to know what you want to see out of your space, programming and librarian! Let me know your thoughts, requests and ideas in a comment, an e-mail to me at hrapp (at) gepl (dot) org or on our Facebook page: GEPL Teen Scene. I can’t wait to start getting to know you better!
