We have quite the week coming up for tweens in the Youth Department. This Saturday is Free Comic Book Day, where comic book stores, libraries and other organizations around North America and across the globe give out free comics to those who are interested. Special issues are released to celebrate the event. This year, our library is participating with several comic book options to choose from.

In spirit of the event, we are also teaching tweens to create their own web comics this Thursday, May 1st during Tween Tech Workshop: Web Comics. This program is available for grades 4-8, with two time slots to participate in. Learn how to make a comic and share it with friends on Saturday!

Finally, May 4th is “May the Fourth Be With you”, otherwise known as International Star Wars Day. Come check out Star Wars books, or choose between the Force and the Dark Side by taking your picture with Anakin or Darth Vader!

It’s a fun week at Glen Ellyn Public Library, and we hope to see you here!
