I am very proud to announce our GEPL Teen Scene Art Contest winners!

There is no gallery selected or the gallery was deleted.

A good crowd attended the Teen Scene Art Contest Reception in February where artists chatted with admirers about their creative process. The artwork was on display in the library’s meeting rooms with refreshments and music for everyone to enjoy. Teen artists gave commentary on their process, inspiration and intent. The artwork is currently on display on the 2nd floor of the library for everyone to admire. Artwork will be on display through March, so bring your family and friends to check it out!

Thanks to our judges, Frank, Jan, Joe, Eddy, Karen and Rich, who gave their time and energy in preparing, reviewing and deliberating. They brought their talent and skill for the love of it.

Thanks to our volunteers Britta, Emma, Jeff and Chris. Jeff arrived earlier than needed, which proved very beneficial. Emma and Britta provided seasoned setup and running experience. These three were the backbone of the reception. Judges gave special thanks to Chris who provided knowledgeable and good-natured tech support through their evaluations. All four volunteers helped make the event not only smooth and successful, but possible, because I couldn’t have done it alone.

Thanks to our teachers and community leaders, from Glenbard South and Glenbard West high schools, especially Colleen and Mary.

I want to thank our Marketing Department and also give thanks to Hannah, our previous YA Librarian, who launched this year’s event and ran previous years’ contests with great success.

Thanks to all our artists who entered our contest. As the Young Adult Librarian, I’m excited to provide an opportunity to showcase the talent of my constituency. Looking at their work, one can see time, dedication and passion. Keep up the good work!

I’m excited to reach out to new and returning participants for another successful celebration of Glen Ellyn’s teen art talent in 2018!
