Use Your Library if I live in Another Town?

Yes you can! To register just come in to our Circulation Desk located on the first floor.*

Please have the following items available when you come in:

You will need to have a current library card from your town’s library, clear of fines or fees. And a valid picture ID with your home address on it. If your ID is not expired but does not have your address on it you may bring in a recent utility bill.

Fill out a registration card with your current address and personal information. We will check your account privileges by calling your home library.

Once we have the OK from your home library and your information is entered into our database, you will be able to borrow materials and use our Internet stations.

What privileges will I have at GEPL once I am approved?

You will be able to borrow any circulating items that are available when you come to GEPL. You will need to contact your home library to place reserves and interlibrary loans.

You will be able use online resources (databases) in the library.

Contact your local library for downloadable books.

* Patrons living in Batavia, Bloomingdale, Franklin Park, Geneva, Itasca, St. Charles, Villa Park, and West Chicago with valid cards at those libraries, do not need to register with us since we share a computer database.
