The Glen Ellyn Public Library offers a variety of services and programs designed for Glen Ellyn Preschools. For a list of area preschools and their contact information, please visit Preschool Learning Centers.
Librarians can develop a storytime and tour of the library especially for your students. Staff can also bring storytime directly to your classroom. Visits are available year round and offered on an every-other month basis. To schedule a visit, please contact Katy Almendinger, Early Literacy Librarian at firstname.lastname@example.org or 630-790-6739.
Home daycares are encouraged to attend our regularly scheduled storytimes.
Due to popular demand, the library is working with Glen Ellyn Preschools to offer Preschool Cards for staff use. Every year, preschool directors must agree to library card terms and provide the library a list of staff members that are eligible to use the card.
Preschool Cards allow educators to keep items for an extended check-out time of four weeks. Items may be renewed for another four weeks, if there are no holds on an item. Preschool Card users are not assessed late fines, but they are liable for lost or damaged items. Items checked out on Preschool Cards are for classroom use only.
If you have any questions regarding Preschool Cards, please contact Katy Almendinger, Early Literacy Librarian by phone at 630-790-6739 or by email at email@example.com.
The library has a variety of materials to help preschool teachers enhance their curriculum. Librarians can pull items, both print and audiovisual, to supplement lessons. Glen Ellyn preschool teachers can use the form below to submit a Preschool Classroom Collection Request. To request items for K-12, please visit the Classroom Collections form.
Requests are filled as time permits, so please allow up to five school days for processing. Preschool teachers are responsible for picking up materials at the library. A personal Glen Ellyn Public Library card or home library card must be used to check out materials.
Do you have a last minute request? Please remember that teachers are always welcome to come in and select their own materials.
