GEPL’s summer program is no longer just about reading. You can also play games and complete activities to earn points in this year’s challenge!
As a kid, and especially as an avid reader, I loved participating in my library’s summer program. Even though I’m not a kid anymore, I still get to do the adult version and encourage kids to sign up at GEPL! I am so excited for this year’s Game On! Summer Challenge.
This year, the library has partnered with the Glen Ellyn Park District to bring you a summer full of exciting events, storytimes, and various activities throughout Glen Ellyn. There will be lots of ways to earn points and win cool prizes – some of which include passes and coupons for places like Brookfield Zoo, Rockin’ Jump, and Safari Land! Starting June 18, enjoy the outdoors with Storytime in the Park . To go along with our gaming theme, we’ll introduce programs like Make Your Own Board Game , After-Hours Fortnite Friday , and Chopped! Summer Challenge . So grab a few books, challenge someone to a friendly game, or attend a library event to earn points and help GEPL reach its goal of 50,000! If we accomplish this goal, the Glen Ellyn Library Foundation and the Friends of the Library will donate $2,000 to the Glen Ellyn Park District’s Scholarship Fund .
Register as a Pre-Reader, Youth, Middle Schooler, High Schooler, Adult, or for the Adaptive Program to keep track of what you read, watch, and play. Don’t forget to drop by the library parking lot on Monday, June 10 from 7-8:30 pm for a Frozen Custard Social to kick off this year’s summer challenge!
