Did you know? You can get free ebooks and audiobooks with your library card! OverDrive is a service that provides access to over 16,000 ebooks and 4,000 audiobooks to GEPL cardholders. With its app, Libby, you can read right on your device.
What devices are compatible with Libby? Apple devices with iOS9+, Android 4.4+, Windows 10 for desktops or tablets with version 1607 or later.
What if I want to read on my e-reader? You will need to use the original OverDrive app to read books on your Kindle or Nook. Each of these devices works a bit differently, so check out this guide for help getting started.
How do I get the new Libby app? Go to the app store on your device and search for Libby. Download the app and answer a few quick questions to set up your account. You’ll want to have your library card number and pin ready.
How do I use the new Libby app? Once you’re registered, you will see the “Library” option on the bottom left. That takes you to the homepage, where you can search or browse for books. To view items you have checked out or have on hold, click “Shelf” on the bottom right.
