Preschool Visits with Miss KatyPosted: October 29, 2019

Did you know that GEPL librarians visit local preschools for storytime? Hearing stories from voices other than those of their parents or teachers can engage children in a special way – so we take books, music, and other storytime tricks on the road. It’s important that kids still get to experience the magic of library storytime during the school day.
We love seeing some of our youngest library members in their preschool classrooms. It’s fun to see familiar faces in a different enviornment at the start of the school year and to watch them grow up! Two of the children from one of my first Book Babies storytimes are now in the same preschool classroom together.
If you know your preschooler is participating in our storytime visits, ask them what books we read during the visit and which ones they enjoy most. We’re always happy to connect them with a something we read together so they can read it again at home. Don’t forget to count those books on their 1K Club logs, too!
Here are some of the favorites from our October visits:
Two Little Black Bats by The Kiboomers
Crash, Splash, or Moo! by Bob Shea
How to Find a Fox by Nilah Magruder
Every Color Soup by Jorey Hurley
