According to at least one website that I have visited recently , more Americans visited the library than other venues such as the movies, a sport event, and even concerts or national parks. That makes me extremely happy! I can’t make someone come to the library if they don’t want to, but I sure can remind them what’s drawing all those people in.
- Free Wi-Fi – Many coffee shops and other establishments offer free Wi-Fi, but it sometimes comes with a restriction or gimmick – not at the library. Just select our network and surf. Save your data!
- Free TV Episodes and Movies – There are lots of streaming options, but not everyone has all of the streaming services. For example, I don’t have CBS All Access. And although I can’t see the episodes of “Picard” that are airing now, in a few months it will be on DVD, and I can borrow it from the library (like I did for the first two seasons of Star Trek: Discovery). Warp speed ahead, please!
- Free Place to Relax – I often ask people in the library “Can I help you find anything?” I don’t feel bad if people say no, because if you want to come in and have a seat and read, research, watch a movie on your device, that’s great! But remember, we’re always here to help if you have specific questions.
So visit the library and bring a friend! Let them in on what you already know – the library is more than books!
