Response Statement

In light of recent events, the Glen Ellyn Public Library stands with the Black community and all people of color. We support and commend those calling for immediate, collective action to end systemic racism in America.

As a vibrant center for accurate information, robust learning, and personal discovery, the Glen Ellyn Public Library has a unique responsibility to fight racial injustice. By providing free, equitable access and eliminating barriers to print and digital resources, knowledgeable staff, and educational programs, regardless of race, we strive to create an atmosphere of courtesy, respect, and dignity for all, each and every day.

Our librarians have compiled book recommendations on the subject of racial justice and white supremacy throughout history in book lists for Youth Adults, and High School students .
