For several summers now, the Glen Ellyn Public Library has participated in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) , which is supported by the Northern Illinois Food Bank . Through this partnership, GEPL has been able to provide nutritious meals for children in the community at no cost to the library or to the children joining us for lunch.
This service is available to all children 18 and under on a first-come, first-served basis. In order to maintain safe conditions, summer meals are available for pickup in the library parking lot from 11 am-12 pm Monday-Friday.
Along with their lunches, families can also receive snack packs for their children. These tasty snacks are provided by the Kiwanis Club of Glen Ellyn , Glen Ellyn Cares, and the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry . We are so grateful for the ways these partners routinely come together to support our programming and help meet the needs of our community.
Families: You can drive through and pick up lunches to eat at home or ride by on your bikes and picnic at the tables or on the lawn at the library. After lunch, be sure to take advantage of our Grab ‘n Go hours where you can head inside to borrow materials. Remember to bring your library card and your mask! You’ll need those to pick out items in the building.
Happy reading and eating!
