Pumpkin season is here! If you prefer not to carve pumpkins, as I do (yuck – those slimy guts get me every time!), here are some alternate ideas for how to decorate them.
- Paint your pumpkins. For kiddos, throw a smock on them, grab some paint, and go to town. If you plan to display your pumpkin outside, make sure to use a waterproof paint like acrylic so it isn’t ruined by the rain. For a more adult, upscale pumpkin, use spray paint. Want a spooky pumpkin? Use glow in the dark paint!
- Glitter your pumpkin. Paint your pumpkin with glue and sprinkle with glitter. Seal with Mod Podge before displaying outside. If you feel fancy, attempt a pattern! I used a circular sponge to make polka dots.
- Remove the wrappers from crayons. Use a hot glue gun to attach the crayons around the pumpkin’s stem. Use a hairdryer to melt the crayons, then let the wax drip down the side of the pumpkin. This looks particularly good on a white pumpkin!
