On Tuesday, June 1, the Glen Ellyn Public Library began our annual summer lunch program. Monday through Friday between 11 am and Noon, library staff are in the parking lot under the tent handing out lunches to any child 18 years old or younger.
Drive, walk, or ride your bike to the library for lunch. You do not need to sign up, pre-register, or qualify. The library is listed as an open site, so the lunches in the parking lot are free to all children on a first come, first served basis every weekday until Friday, August 13.
All lunches are provided by the Northern Illinois Food Bank at no cost to the library or the children who receive them. Learn more about their programs and see the complete list of lunch sites in the area .
In addition to lunches, the library distributes snack packs that include a variety of tasty treats for kids. Snack packs are also provided free of charge by the Kiwanis Club of Glen Ellyn in partnership with the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry.
So if you’re looking for healthy lunches for kids this summer, come to the tent in the library parking lot!
