Procrastination

If the work gets done, that’s what counts, right?  But we know the cons – staying up all night, stressing out, and the work completed is not the best.  The sooner you get the work done, the sooner you can go play that video game, read that book, or shoot some hoops with friends.

Did I procrastinate throughout my many years of school? Yes. Do I still do it now with work and other things? Yes. Is procrastination a bad thing? Nope.

Two benefits of procrastination:

  • More focus – Your attention is put to the test because you know the assignment must be done and delaying is no longer an option.
  • Precise decision making – Jumping into a project right away without considering other ways to approach it can be a challenge. If you consider the options until the deadline, you see the bigger picture and have a better thought-out answer.

Am I advocating for procrastination? You decide how best to handle the task. Finding that middle ground is key – you want to think the challenge through and respect the deadline.
