This amazing YA novel by Marissa Meyer shows readers that not everything we see is the full story. The story revolves around the main character, Prudence Daniels, who gains powers that allow her to dish out karmic justice to everyone except her annoyingly lazy lab partner Quint Erickson. Quint never seems to be willing to help her get the perfect grades she wants. Prudence is a perfectionist, a bit judgmental, and slightly self absorbed, but also someone who learns that not everyone is as bad as she’s always thought.
This story takes us on a ride as Prudence learns that looks are deceiving, especially when it comes to her oh-so-annoying lab partner. The idea of karmic justice is appealing and plays so well into the concept of learning that not everyone is deserving of punishments based solely on one perspective. A great book when looking for your next read.
