The Development Officer will report to the Executive Director of the Library and will be responsible for establishing long-range goals and objectives for development programs and activities of the Library Foundation. This individual will strategically qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gift prospects and donors to increase gifts to the Library Foundation. The Development Officer will develop and manage a portfolio of individuals and organizations, major and planned gift donors and prospects. The Development Officer will work with the Executive Director of the Library and the Foundation Board to establish goals and objectives for the program as well as develop and execute long- and short-term strategies to secure major and planned gifts. This individual will also prepare annual operating plans and quarterly progress reports. This individual will also work with the Foundation Board and volunteers to plan and execute fundraising events to secure financial support for the Library. In this role the Development Officer will work to enhance the visibility and funding priorities of the Library Foundation and increase philanthropic interest.
This position is part-time, 8 hours per month
Salary Range – $14.06 – $21.08 per hour
Qualifications for Position:
- Bachelor’s degree required; CFRE certification or progress toward such certification is desirable
- Minimum of three years of recent experience in fundraising and related activities required or the equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Understanding of library issues and trends highly desirable
