High School Art Contest
Showcase your talent in this competition and art show!
Glen Ellyn residents or students currently attending a Glen Ellyn high school who are 14 to 21 years old are eligible to enter. (Immediate relatives of judges are not eligible.)
All types of visual artwork are eligible for the contest. Items must be original work. Each participant may submit one item per category below.
- digital/film photography or graphic art
- ceramics or sculpture
- painting or drawing
- assembly, collage, or other mixed media
- Complete the online form below by Friday, March 20, 2020.
- Deliver the original artwork to the 2nd Floor Information Desk by Friday, March 20, 2020.
By submitting art to the contest, artists allow the Glen Ellyn Public Library to display their art, item, and likeness and use it for publicity and marketing purposes.
Judges are members of the local art community and will select the winners after examination and discussion. Judging criteria emphasize uniqueness of thought, technical competence, composition, and aesthetic appeal.
The Glen Ellyn Public Library invites artists, artists’ families, friends, judges, and community members to attend the High School Art Show on Sunday, March 22, 2020 from 2-3 pm. All artwork submitted for the High School Art Contest will be displayed in its original form at this reception.
Nine artists will receive awards, up to two from each category. An artist can only win in one category each year. Winners will be announced by the end of March, and each winner will receive a $30 gift card to Blick Art Materials. Photos of the winning artwork will be displayed in the High School Room and online.
