The library provides engaging opportunities for children to explore and discover the world around them. Play has endless educational and social-emotional benefits for young children. And it’s just plain fun!
Below is just a sampling of the many play opportunities in the Youth Department.
- The Play Area, which includes:
- LEGO® table and wall
- Train table
- Doll house
- Magnet wall
- Puppet theater
- AWE early literacy station
2nd Saturday of the Month | 9:30-10:15 am
Engage your senses with a variety of sensory art projects and sensory play at this inclusive play group for children who receive therapy. For ages birth through 5 years.
Fridays | October 26, November 2, 16 | 9:30-10:30 am
Join us for an open play group featuring educational and social play. Baby Play Group features a variety of toys and sensory play activities to help babies discover the world around them and to build early reading skills. For ages birth to 24 months.
There are even some opportunities available just for middle school students:
- DIY art cart
- Chalkboard wall
- Video games (with school ID or library card)
- Board games
