Glen Ellyn Public Library ranks among the top public libraries in the nation, according to Library Journal . The library was recently honored with a four-star rating from the national publication, which has been ranking libraries for 15 years. “The library has never been ranked in the past, so to debut at four stars, we must be doing something right,” said Library Director Dawn Bussey.
Library Journal reviews public library data reported to the government – visits, checkouts, program attendance, e-material circulation, public computer use and Wi-Fi sessions per capita – and ranks the best-performing libraries within budget categories. Glen Ellyn Public Library has been named one of the top 20 libraries in the country within its budget bracket , which includes Glencoe Public Library, Lake Forest Library, and Deerfield Public Library.
Bussey added, “We have a fabulous team here at the Glen Ellyn Public Library, and together we work to fill the needs of our community. Our new Strategic Plan will help shape the future of the library, so we welcome everyone to come to one of our upcoming focus groups to determine the library’s course of action for the next three years.”
