2024 Summer Reading

By: GEPL Staff

World on the Move | June 1-July 31

Readers of all ages can participate in 2024 Summer Reading! If 2,000 people register for summer reading, the Friends of the Library and the Glen Ellyn Library Foundation will each give $1,000 to our non-profit partner, Ten Thousand Villages , to support fair trade artisans.

Summer Reading Log

This summer, everyone can read (or be read to) or complete an activity every day and use this paper log or the Beanstack Tracker app to record your progress. During the program, rewards are available at the library for each 15 days you log. Color in, initial, or somehow indicate in the days on the paper log the days you read or complete an activity. When you come to the library to collect your reward, staff will mark your reward redeemed. Come in to the library to collect prizes by Saturday, August 31.

Register at the Youth Desk, 2nd Floor Information Desk, or using Beanstack (visit Beanstack online or the Beanstack Tracker app) beginning Saturday, June 1.

  • Read (or be read to) or complete an activity every day.
  • Log reading and activity days any time on a paper log or using Beanstack (gepl.beanstack.org) or the Beanstack Tracker app. A paper log is available on page 4 of The Guide or at the library.
  • Come in to the library to collect prizes by Saturday, August 31.

Participants earn prizes at registration and for every 15 days logged.

  • Registrants through grade 8 can earn drawing slips at the library. Monthly drawings will be on the following Mondays: June 17, July 8, August 5.
  • Adult and high school registrants receive a chocolate bar from Chocolaterie Stam at registration and can earn chances to win $50 Chamber of Commerce gift cards. The more days you log, the greater your chance of winning!
