Study Room Policy
Enclosed study rooms are available in both the Youth and Adult Departments. In the Adult Department, seven small rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis for high school students, adults, or younger children who are accompanied by an adult. Small study rooms are intended for use by groups of one to four people. Library staff will impose a two-hour time limit when others are waiting. Users must check in at the 2nd Floor Information Desk with a photo ID.

GEPL cardholders in good standing can make advanced reservations for the Shakespeare room for their groups of five to eight people. Cardholders may reserve the Shakespeare room up to 12 reservations per calendar year for a maximum of three hours per reservation. Reservations can be made in person or by phone at the 2nd Floor information Desk. The individual making the reservation must be present at the event and check in with their GEPL card. For more information, contact the 2nd Floor Information Desk at 630-790-6630. Reservations can be made six weeks prior to the start of each quarter as outlined below:

In the Youth Department, one study room is available on a first-come, first-served basis for children up to grade eight. The Youth Study Room is intended to be used primarily by groups that include children or for activities with children. Library staff will impose a one-hour time limit when others are waiting. Users must check in at the Youth Information Desk.
